Two Benton parents have been charged in the shooting death of their 2-year-old son, police said.
Tabitha Ashley, 23, and Phillip Ashley, 22, were arrested Monday on charges of manslaughter and endangering the welfare of a minor after their 2-year-old son died after being shot last week, Benton police said in a statement.
Police received a call Tuesday about a child shot at a home on Nelson Court off Edison Avenue. The child was taken to a Little Rock hospital, where he died.
The investigation into the child’s death is still ongoing, and additional charges are possible, police said.
