Ex-One Bank exec asks for plea change

Gary Rickenbach, a former senior executive vice president with Little Rock-based One Bank & Trust who was indicted on charges of defrauding the bank and the federal government, asked Monday to change his plea to guilty.

Rickenbach, 58, entered the plea before U.S. District Judge Kristine Baker.

Rickenbach requested the change after agreeing to assist in the prosecution of three other former executives with the Little Rock bank, said Pat Harris, first assistant U.S. attorney. Baker did not accept Rickenbach's guilty plea Monday but took it under advisement. If she accepts the plea change, Rickenbach will receive two years' probation in the case.

Federal regulators have scrutinized One Bank for several years and issued sanctions, including a 2012 order demanding that Layton Stuart resign as chairman and chief executive officer of the bank. Stuart died in March 2013.
