I-30 lane closures overnight extended

Pavement testing requiring overnight lane closures on Interstate 30 in Little Rock and North Little Rock have been extended through Wednesday, the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department said.

The work will require alternately closing the inside and outside lanes of eastbound and westbound I-30 within the work zone between Interstate 530 in Little Rock and Interstate 40 in North Little Rock from 8:30 p.m. today to 6 a.m. Wednesday, weather permitting.

Traffic will be controlled using traffic cones and advance warning signs, the department said.

The testing is part of the department's proposed project to widen I-30 in Little Rock and North Little Rock between Interstate 40 and Interstate 53o. The project includes replacing the Arkansas River bridge and improvements on I-40 between Arkansas 107 and U.S. 67/167 in North Little Rock.
