Little Rock man hit by car during street fight

A Little Rock man was hospitalized Saturday after he was struck by a car during a street brawl, police reported.

Officers responded about 7:48 p.m. to 1220 S. Pierce St., where they found Brandon Joyner lying on the ground unconscious. Joyner, 26, of Little Rock, was taken to UAMS Medical Center in critical condition. His condition was unknown Monday.

Joyner had reportedly been involved in a large fight at the address and had been struck twice by a gray 2006 Mitsubishi Eclipse, according to a police incident report. The driver, a 21-year-old Little Rock man, was said to have fled the scene, but surrendered to police later Saturday.

After speaking to investigators, the man was released without charges.

Circumstances of the fight were unclear.

An investigation is ongoing.
