Driver killed after car leaves road in Pine Bluff

An Oklahoma man was killed in Pine Bluff early Wednesday after his car left the road before striking a culvert and a tree in Pine Bluff, police said.

Shulyer Pickle, 22, was headed north on Bryant Road around 2 a.m. when the accident happened, according to a news release from the Pine Bluff Police Department.

Police said Pickle died at the scene around 2:45 a.m.

A passenger in the vehicle whose name wasn't released was taken to Jefferson Regional Medical Center. The extent of that person's injuries was unknown, police said.

The crash had not yet been added to an online database of preliminary Arkansas State Police records, which shows 467 other fatalities on Arkansas roads this year.
