Arkansas running back target Devwah Whaley had an outstanding senior season with 1,701 yards and 23 touchdowns on 228 carries, but he sees room for improvement.

“Just trying to become a better back and improve my game all around,” Whaley said. “Just becoming the best back I can be."

Whaley, 6-0, 209 pounds, 4.45 seconds in the 40-yard dash, of Beaumont (Texas) Central, named the Hogs his leader after taking an official visit to Fayetteville over the weekend.

ESPN rates him the No. 3 running back and No. 49 overall prospect in the nation.

"I have pretty good vision, speed, strength, and I just play hard every snap,” Whaley said.

He likes Arkansas’ focus on the running game.

“Just being able to running the ball against quality defenses,” he said. “Running the ball obviously is what they like to do, so that’s good.”

Whaley, who has a 3.5 grade point average, credits God for his success.

"My faith, just keeping God first and just having passion for the game,” Whaley said. “Without God, none of this would be possible."
