Bearden offensive lineman Samuel Williams received an invitation from Arkansas to join the program as a preferred walk-on last week.

“That’s been the dream since I was a little kid, wanting to be a Razorback and now I’m getting a chance to make that dram come true,” said Williams, who visited the Hogs for the Mississippi State game on Saturday.

Williams, 6-7, 275 pounds has been committed to Louisiana-Monroe since June, but the recent firing of Coach Todd Berry has him rethinking about his pledge.

“It’s kind of questionable, I’m going to really rethink it about the options I have,” Williams said.

Hog offensive line Coach Sam Pittman told Williams of the walk-on invite Wednesday and sat down and talked to him prior the Saturday’s game.

“It was pretty awesome up there,”Williams said. “The facilities are top-notch. It was my first time to see everything.”

Central Arkansas extended a scholarship offer on Tuesday. Utah State and Missouri State also made contact and asked for his film the same day. Williams, who has a 3.8 grade point average, will receive academic scholarships.

“The only thing stopping me right now from pulling the trigger on the Arkansas deal, is I’m waiting to see how much scholarship money I’ll be receiving,” Williams said.
