Beebe native Belew to play South on Main gig

Cody Belew and John Willis will perform solo and together at 9 p.m. Saturday at South on Main. Admission is $10.

Belew, a finalist on the third season of The Voice in 2012, is a native of Beebe.

The two singer-songwriter-guitarists are calling their show "21 Songs," as their performance "is mostly about the individual song choices rather than an overall theme," Belew says. "We are both dynamically different as musicians and performers, but whenever we have joined forces in the past, something clicks and we're able to play to one another's strengths in a way most call 'that sibling thing.'"

Willis will do his part of the show, followed by Belew doing a part and then the two will perform a few duets, accompanied by veteran drummer Dave Hoffpauir and two of Belew's past bandmates, bassist Ivan Yarborough and guitarist Matt Stone. Sydney Hunsicker and Sarah Stricklin, who are in Willis' band, The Late Romantics, will provide backing vocals.
