Hogs fall to Georgia Tech in NIT

Charles Mitchell scored 18 points and had 18 rebounds to lead Georgia Tech to an 83-73 win over Arkansas on Thursday at Barclays Center in New York.

The Yellow Jackets went on a 10-3 run to go up by double digits after the Razorbacks pulled to within 64-61 with just more than five minutes remaining.

Georgia Tech (4-1) advanced to the NIT Season Tip-Off championship game Friday against Villanova. The Razorbacks (2-2) will play Stanford in the consolation game Friday at 11:30 a.m.

The Yellow Jackets made 47 percent of their field goal attempts and controlled the game throughout. Arkansas led only once, using a 15-4 run late in the first half to go up 35-33.

Georgia Tech led 41-38 at halftime.

Adam Smith and Marcus Georges-Hunt combined to make eight 3-pointers and each scored 19 points for the Yellow Jackets.

Dusty Hannahs scored 17 points off the bench to lead the Razorbacks. Anthlon Bell added 14 points and Moses Kingsley scored 13 points and had nine rebounds before fouling out.

Arkansas made 43 percent of its field goal attempts, but was just 15 of 23 from the free throw line.

Georgia Tech out-rebounded Arkansas 50-26 and had 18 offensive rebounds.
