Wrong-way driver on I-440 killed in Thanksgiving wreck, police say

A man driving in the wrong direction on Interstate 440 in Little Rock Thanksgiving evening was killed when his vehicle collided head-on with another car, according to Arkansas State Police.

John B. Collins, 45, of Little Rock, was the driver of a Subaru headed west in the eastbound lanes of I-440, according to a police report. The car was driving partially in the left lane and inside shoulder, police said.

Around the two mile marker, which is about a mile west of the exit for Bill and Hillary Clinton National Airport, the Subaru struck a Nissan head-on. Collins suffered fatal injuries and two people in the Nissan, Jonathan Busby, 31, and Amber Busby, 30, both of Wynne, were injured.

The Busbys were taken to CHI St. Vincent in Little Rock. Their condition wasn't included in the report.

According to preliminary Arkansas State Police figures, it was the 470th fatality on Arkansas roads in 2015.
