Planetarium Show: Mystery of the Christmas Star

ARKADELPHIA — Henderson State University’s Reynolds Science Center will present Mystery of the Christmas Star at 7 p.m. Thursday and at 6 p.m. Dec. 8 on the planetarium’s 360-degree panoramic screen. All ages are invited to discover a scientific explanation for the star that is believed to have led the Wise Men to the place of Jesus’ birth. Cheaper by the Dozen Auditions

BENTON — The Royal Players will hold auditions for Cheaper by the Dozen at 1 p.m. Saturday and at 7 p.m. Dec. 6 at the Royal Theatre, 111 S. Market St. The play is adapted by Sherman Sergel from the book by Frank Gilbreth and Ernestine Gilbreth Carey. The auditions will include cold readings from the script. There are several parts for youth ages 5 to 17 and for adults ages 35 to 70. Lisa Goodrich will direct the play, which will be presented Feb. 4-7 and 11-14. World War I Exhibit

ARKADELPHIA — The Great War: Arkansas in World War I, a traveling exhibit chronicling Arkansas’ role in World War I, will be displayed through Dec. 18 in Ouachita Baptist University’s Riley-Hickingbotham Library. Senior Art Exhibits

ARKADELPHIA — Ouachita Baptist University’s School of Fine Arts will host the senior art exhibits of Amanda Bunting, Katelyn Smith and Treslyn Shipley Tuesday through Dec. 11. Bunting’s exhibit will be on the second floor of the Rosemary Gossett Adams Gallery in Ouachita’s Moses-Provine Hall, Smith’s will be on the first floor of the Adams Gallery, and Shipley’s exhibit will be in the Hammons Gallery in the Mabee Fine Arts Center. Ageless Bikers Club

HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE — The Ageless Bikers Club has eight different bike rides that are 16 to 23 miles. The rides, which start at 1 p.m., are on quiet, paved country roads, but two rides have up to 3 miles of dirt roads. No one is left behind, and the riders stop often to regroup and socialize. Distillations Exhibit

HOT SPRINGS — The Justus Fine Art Gallery is featuring the paintings of Hot Springs artist Dolores Justus through Monday in an exhibit titled Distillations. Justus is the owner of the gallery. Merry Mixers Dance Club

HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE — The Hot Springs Village Merry Mixers dance to live music from 7-10 p.m. the first and third Saturdays of every month at the Coronado Community Center. HOT SPRINGS — The Rhythmic Interactive Percussion musical event takes place from 5-9 p.m. Sundays at Kenneth Adair Park, 358 Central Ave. Participation is encouraged as ensemble members pass out drums, tambourines, maracas and more to audience members.
