EARLIER

Authorities were investigating a homicide Sunday morning at 1406 S. Battery St., the Little Rock Police Department said.

An online database of the agency's calls showed officers were dispatched to that address shortly before 8:50 a.m. for a reported cutting.

Little Rock police spokesman Lt. Steve McClanahan identified the victim as 33-year-old Jerry Moore Jr. He was wounded in an apparent stabbing and taken to a hospital, where he died.

No arrests have been made, McClanahan said, but police are searching for a person of interest.

Photographs tweeted by police from the scene showed crime-scene tape strung across the street and officers taking measurements on the home's front porch.

Sunday's homicide is the city's 28th so far this year and fourth in less than a week's time. Before those four, Little Rock hadn't had a homicide since Sept. 22.
