A woman charged in the stabbing death of a Little Rock man had bail set at $1 million in her first appearance in a Little Rock district court Monday morning.

Paradise Deanna Williams, 28, pleaded innocent to a first-degree murder charge in the killing of Jerry Moore Jr., who died at a hospital Sunday after police found him in response to a stabbing call at 1406 S. Battery St.

District Court Judge Alice Lightle on Monday noted Williams' record of violent offenses in Pulaski County, which includes domestic battery and aggravated assault charges, as well as several arrests for prostitution and failure to appear.

Williams was given five years probation Nov. 2 on charges of aggravated assault, terroristic threatening and criminal mischief stemming from a July arrest, according to court records. As part of her probation, Williams was ordered by Pulaski County Circuit Court Judge Leon Johnson to receive drug treatment and anger management courses.

A public defender at Monday's court hearing said Williams was receiving public assistance and food stamps and that she occasionally worked in a barber shop.

Williams, appearing through video feed from the Pulaski County jail, did not speak during the hearing, and her public defender waived the right for the court to hear the facts of the case. More information on Moore's death and Williams' arrest was not immediately available from police Monday morning.

Williams was arrested at 10 p.m. Sunday.

Moore's death was the 28th homicide of year in Little Rock and one of four killings in the city in a week.
