A North Little Rock man was arrested Sunday, police said, after stealing items from a local store and fleeing on a bicycle.
Police were called to the Family Dollar store at 4149 E. Broadway about 1:45 p.m. Sunday on a reported theft in progress. Rendel Lonnell, 50, of 609 Parkdale St. in North Little Rock, left the store with some items without paying for them, according to a police report.
When police attempted to make contact with Lonnell, the report said, he threw a stolen electric heater to the ground then fled on his bicycle before dropping the bicycle and running behind a business.
Lonnell was arrested and charged with theft of property and fleeing.
