Hot Springs woman killed in collision with tractor-trailer

A Hot Springs woman died Monday in a wreck involving a tractor-trailer in the 4300 block of U.S. 270 in Garland County, according to Arkansas State Police.

State police identified the victim was as Lacy Miles, 23, in a preliminary report released Monday afternoon.

Miles lost control of her eastbound 2002 Infiniti I35 on the highway about 9:26 a.m., crossed over into the highway's westbound lane and was struck by a tractor-trailer, killing her, according to the report.

A video posted on the Hot Springs Sentinel-Record's Facebook page showed emergency crews responding to the scene and a car overturned in a ditch on the side of the road.

The condition of the other driver was not known as of Monday evening.

Travel conditions at the time of the crash were described as rainy and wet.

The death was the 474th in a traffic crash so far this year in Arkansas, according to preliminary figures.
