WEST MEMPHIS — An Illinois-based company that provides sterilization services for the medical, pharmaceutical and food safety industries has announced a $15 million expansion at its West Memphis facility.
Sterigenics International LLC says it will add 20 jobs as it triples its gamma sterilization capacity at the facility. The expansion is set to be complete by early 2017.
Sterigenics International CEO Michael Mulhern says the company is expanding the facility because global demand is growing for medical devices. Company President Philip Macnabb says the facility's proximity to Memphis, Tennessee, makes it a "critical piece of our global network."
Sterigenics has 47 facilities in 13 countries around the world.
