Telling tales: The town of Fairfield Bay gets festival-happy with a two-for-one weekend Oct. 9-10 at Fairfield Bay Conference and Visitor Center, 110 Lost Creek Parkway. Oktoberfest, a celebration of German food, music, arts and crafts, will be held 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Oct. 9 and 9 a.m.-10 p.m. Oct. 10. General admission is free. Then, at 9:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Oct. 9, the town will host professional storytellers Minton Sparks and Sean Buvala for StoryFest. Tickets are $10 in advance, $15 at the door.
