Man shot 3 times blames 2 on street

Police were investigating after a man was shot in Little Rock early Wednesday.

Officers were called about 4:38 a.m. to Baptist Health Medical Center-Little Rock, where Branner Gibson, 38, was being treated for two gunshot wounds in his back and another in his right leg. Gibson was also treated for a broken collarbone and a broken leg, according to a police report. His injuries weren't life-threatening.

Gibson said he was walking "somewhere on 12th Street" when he encountered two black men between the ages of 18 and 25, the report states. One of the men appeared to have a gun, so Gibson turned around and ran. He was shot as he fled.

Further circumstances of the shooting were unclear. Gibson told police he couldn't remember much of what happened.

His girlfriend, Brittney Harris, 33, told police she'd taken him to the hospital from a gas station at Baseline and Chicot roads, according to the report. She found Gibson there after calling his cellphone and speaking to two people who said he'd been shot.

No arrests had been made.
