Little Rock police officers investigate the Wednesday morning shooting of a 17-year-old boy outside a home at 4121 W. 13th St. A man fired several shots, one of which hit the teenager in the ankle, then ran away, police said.

A teenage boy was shot by a masked gunman Wednesday morning in Little Rock, police reported.

Officers were called about 11:30 a.m. to the 4100 block of West 13th Street. They found a 17-year-old boy who had been shot once in the ankle, according to police spokesman Lt. Steve McClanahan. The boy was hospitalized with injuries that are not life-threatening.

Investigators determined that the boy was outside a residence at 4121 W. 13th St. when someone ran toward him and began firing, McClanahan said. There was no known motive.

The boy was not identified because of his age.

No arrests had been made late Wednesday.

An investigation is ongoing.
