— Arkansas has raised some ticket prices for weekend basketball games at Bud Walton Arena.

Single-game ticket prices range from $25 to $35 for lower-level seats during the 2015-16 season. Lower-level seats are being sold for a minimum $30 for all Friday and Saturday games, including nonconference.

Prices did not increase for season ticket buyers this season. Those packages are being offered at $450 for most seats and $360 for some upper-level seats.

Kevin Trainor, associate athletics director, said prices are being sold higher on a single-game basis to protect season ticket holders, who last saw an increase in price during the 2008-09 season.

"Last year we didn't sell lower-level reserve tickets on a single-game basis," Trainor said. "We held those for season ticket holders.

"We're making them available on a single-game basis but at a rate that protects the season ticket holder. The people who are paying for the entire season need to be rewarded for that investment."

Prices for upper-level and loft seats range from $15 to $30 per game, depending on the day of the game and the opponent. No upper-level seats were offered for more than $25 last year.

The $15 price point is less than tickets were offered for any game last season. Single-game tickets went on sale Thursday.

"We wanted to give some opportunities to get people in Bud Walton Arena at a price point in the upper-level that they could come to the games," Trainor said.

The most expensive lower-level ticket for a single game is $35 for the Saturday, Jan. 30 contest against Texas Tech. Upper-level tickets for the game are being sold for $30.

All tickets for the Thursday, Jan. 21 game against Kentucky are being sold for $30.

Arkansas began tier pricing for football games this season. Single-game tickets for games against Texas Tech and Auburn were sold for $10 more than listed in season ticket packages.
