Note said woman at bank had bomb

A woman implied that she had a bomb and attempted to rob a Little Rock bank Wednesday, police reported.

Officers were called at 1:48 p.m. to an Iberia Bank branch at 6420 S. University Ave. An employee, Tiera Wilkins, 26, said a woman with her face covered walked into the business and gave her a note, according to a police report.

In the note, the woman demanded $40,000 and threatened to blow up the bank, the report says. Wilkins described the woman as nervous. The woman told Wilkins that three men had been threatening her, and "if she didn't bring them the $40,000 she would explode," the report states.

At one point, the woman asked for police to be called, according to the report. She fled when a security guard tried to detain her.

No money was taken, and no injuries were reported. Officers searched the area but made no arrests.

The woman was described as black and 5 feet, 7 inches tall. She had a black bandanna over her face and was wearing an orange sweatshirt, black gloves, black shoes and dark-gray pants.
