Oh, I love the Christmas special! Understandable, but it's not on this set. This is a collection of non-holiday-related specials that ran from 1975 to 1990. Two were Emmy winners (Life is a Circus, Charlie Brown and You're a Good Sport, Charlie Brown) and the other nine were nominees:

You're the Greatest, Charlie Brown: Charlie Brown enters the Junior Olympics decathlon and goes up against Marcie, "Masked Marvel" Snoopy and an unsportsmanlike bigger kid.

She's a Good Skate, Charlie Brown: With Snoopy as her coach, Peppermint Patty trains hard for a figure skating competition.

It's Magic, Charlie Brown: Snoopy wreaks havoc on everyone when he takes up magic as a hobby.

Someday You'll Find Her, Charlie Brown: Charlie Brown sees "the most beautiful girl in the world" in the crowd of a televised football game and goes to great lengths to track her down.

Is This Goodbye, Charlie Brown?: Linus and Lucy must say their goodbyes when their father gets a job transfer.

Life is a Circus, Charlie Brown: Snoopy inadvertently joins the circus in an acrobatic dog act.

What Have We Learned, Charlie Brown?: While traveling through France and Belgium, Charlie Brown and his friends learn about the two world wars at Omaha Beach and Ypres.

It's Flashbeagle, Charlie Brown: The gang gets musical and Snoopy becomes a dancing fiend.

Snoopy's Getting Married, Charlie Brown: Snoopy falls in love and prepares a big wedding.

Why, Charlie Brown, Why?: Linus' new friend is diagnosed with leukemia.

You're a Good Sport, Charlie Brown: Charlie Brown learns a lesson in patience and perseverance when he takes part in a motocross race.

Fans of Charles Schulz's characters should have a pretty good idea of what these are like. Gentle, funny, touching, at times thought-provoking, they're good, family safe entertainment. Whether it's a lesson about losing gracefully or a relatively gentle story about childhood cancer, the series educates children without talking down to them.

Also, with the Peanuts movie due out Nov. 6, the timing's right for a buildup of interest in Snoopy, Charlie Brown and the gang.
