Auntie maim?

Cynical newspaperman Mortimer Brewster (Chad Bradford), on the verge of marrying the girl next door, Elaine Harper (Sharon Combs) -- well, she lives on the other side of a cemetery -- worries about the streak of insanity that appears to run through his family -- one brother (David Weatherly) thinks he's Teddy Roosevelt, another (Jeff Bailey) is a psychopathic serial killer, and even his two dear, daffy, Victorian aunts (Candyce Hinkle and Fran Austin) have a skeleton (or 12) buried in their cellar.

Factor in a cop (Devin Robertson) who wants to be a playwright, some plastic surgery gone awry and a couple of glasses of killer elderberry wine and you've got Joseph Kesselring's darkling comedy Arsenic and Old Lace, opening Tuesday at Murry's Dinner Playhouse, 6323 Colonel Glenn Road, Little Rock.

Roger M. Eaves, Jimi Brewi, Eric Harrison and director Don Bolinger round out the cast. Show times are 7:30 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday (12:30 matinees only Wednesday, Oct. 14 and 21), 12:45 and 6:45 p.m. Sunday through Nov. 7. Buffet opens 90 minutes before curtain time. Tickets are $32-$36, $23 for children 15 and under and $25 and $15 show only. Call (501) 562-3131 or visit murrysdp.com.
