Pine Bluff police to cover shooting situations

PINE BLUFF -- The Pine Bluff Police Department is developing classes to teach civilians techniques on how to deal with active shooting situations, a news release said Friday.

Pine Bluff police spokesman Sgt. David De Foor said each session will begin inside a classroom with a presentation and a question-and-answer session.

After that, "we will then move throughout your facility to discuss safety tips, lock down procedures, what to do when police arrive, etc," De Foor said in a news release.

"The class will be tailored to your needs and time constraints. The class time ranges from one to four hours depending on your facility size, needs, class participation and so on."
