Datto man dies after driving into oncoming traffic

A Datto man was killed Sunday after he drove his vehicle into oncoming traffic in Clay County, according to an Arkansas State Police report.

Donald Borsch, 59, was traveling south on Arkansas 211, south of Clay Road, in the northbound lane about 10 a.m. Sunday when the driver of a northbound 2011 Lincoln MKX, Corning resident Gregory Mock, 43, attempted to swerve to avoid a head-on collision.

Borsch's 1996 Chevrolet S10 struck Mock's vehicle, state police said.

A passenger in Mock's vehicle, 44-year-old Laurie Mock of Corning, was hurt. Her condition was unknown as of Monday morning.

According to the report, a minor, whose identity and condition were not released, also suffered injuries in the crash.

Travel conditions at the time of the crash were described as dry and clear in the report.

The death was the 384th in a traffic crash so far this year, according to preliminary figures.
