A man suspected of fatally hitting a pedestrian with his vehicle and then leaving the scene surrendered to authorities Tuesday, the Little Rock Police Department said.

Kevin Linsley, 35, turned himself in about 8:40 a.m. Tuesday morning after warrants were issued for his arrest in the Aug. 28 hit-and-run that killed 29-year-old Ian Canham.

A spokesman for the agency said he didn't immediately have details on how police linked Linsley to the crime.

Police said at the time that Canham was walking shortly after noon at North Rodney Parham Road and Old Forge Drive when a white van drove through a gas station parking lot and hit him on the sidewalk. It then fled the scene.

Linsley was listed as an inmate at the Pulaski County jail Tuesday morning with bail not yet set. He faces charges of negligent homicide and failure to stop at an accident with injury or death.
