Runoff today will decide Van Buren School Board seat

VAN BUREN -- Two candidates face off in a runoff election today for the at-large Van Buren School Board position 6 seat.

Jeff Lambert and J.R. McPhate received the most votes in the Sept. 15 election but not enough to win the seat outright.

Lambert received 248 votes, and McPhate got 188. The third candidate, Mary Jo Weidman, was eliminated with 125 votes.

Polls today will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Because seat 6 is an at-large position, all voters in the Van Buren School District will be allowed to vote.
