A Forrest City woman was killed Wednesday morning in St. Francis County after a head-on collision involving a tractor-trailer, according to an Arkansas State Police report.
Susan Elizabeth Kersey, 25, was traveling west on U.S. 70 east of Forrest City about 8:50 a.m. Wednesday in her 2014 Nissan when she crossed the centerline into oncoming traffic and struck the front of an eastbound tractor-trailer, state police said.
Kersey was pronounced dead at the scene by St. Francis County Coroner Rausch Hodges.
The driver of the tractor-trailer, 27-year-old Zachary T. Billingsley of Forrest City, was hurt in the crash.
The extent of Billingsley's injuries was unknown as of Wednesday afternoon.
Travel conditions at the time of the crash were described as clear and dry in the report.
The death was the 385th in a traffic crash so far this year, according to preliminary figures.
