MORRILTON — Author and screenwriter Jenny Wingfield will give a presentation at 1 p.m. at the E. Allen Gordon Library of the University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton. Southern Living Custom Builder Program Showcase Home

All Because of Agatha

MAUMELLE — The Maumelle Players continue the celebration of their 10th-anniversary season with a production of All Because of Agatha, by Jonathan Troy, at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday and again Oct. 16 and 17, and at 3 p.m. Oct. 18 at the group’s theater in the Little Scholars Academy, 10910 Maumelle Blvd. The play tells the story of a young couple who move into a centuries-old house, only to find that it is haunted by a witch. Bryan Altstatt directs the local production, and Denise Loken is the assistant director. Tickets are $15 for adults and $12 for seniors 65 and older, students and children under 16. Rose Show

CONWAY — The Central Arkansas Rose Society will hold its 47th annual Rose Show from 1:30-4 p.m. at the 110 Building (formerly the Faulkner County Natural Resource Center), 110 S. Amity Road. AARP Smart Driver Course

RUSSELLVILLE — An AARP Smart Driver Course for people 55 and older will be offered from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Saint Mary’s Regional Medical Center, in Cafe 2, next to the cafeteria. The cost is $15 for AARP members and $20 for nonmembers, payable to AARP the day of the class. Complimentary pastries and coffee will be provided. Walk to Remember

CONWAY — Registration is open for the seventh annual Conway Regional Walk to Remember, a free event to help families remember an infant who died before or shortly after birth. The walk will be held Saturday at Conway High School’s John McConnell Football Stadium. Check-in will be at 10 a.m., followed by a remembrance ceremony at 11 a.m., then the walk and a balloon release. In the event of rain, the walk will be held in the Conway High School Cafeteria. Riverview Baptist Fall Festival

OPPELO — Riverview Baptist Christian School will host its 43rd annual Fall Festival at the school, 123 Riverview Road. A turkey-and-dressing dinner with all the trimmings will be served from 4:30-7 p.m. in the cafeteria. The cost for the meal is $9 for adults, $8 for senior citizens and $7 for children ages 5-12. Leta Stroud Concert

MORRILTON — Award-winning gospel singer Leta Carr Stroud will perform at 2 p.m. Sunday at Morrilton First Church of the Nazarene, 108 N. Morrill St. Stroud, a native of Center Ridge, is a graduate of Nemo Vista High School and Petit Jean Vo-Tech (now the University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton). She is retired from the University of Central Arkansas in Conway. Her appearance is part of the 102nd-year anniversary celebration of the church. Food for Fines Program

MORRILTON — The Conway County Library, 101 W. Church St., is holding its Food for Fines Program through Oct. 24. Library patrons can pay their late fees and help out their community by bringing in nonperishable food items. For every item donated, the library will take $1 off a patron’s library fines, up to $10. Train Depot’s 100th Anniversary

MORRILTON — A 100th anniversary celebration of the Morrilton Train Depot, 101 E. Railroad Ave., will be held from noon to 2:30 p.m. Oct. 18. The event will include a Model T and Model A antique-car display, museum tours and Conway County history lessons, a barbecue and hot dog lunch, and a bake sale. Put Your Business on the Map Workshop

MORRILTON — The Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center is partnering with Google to present Put Your Business on the Map with Google from 9:30-11 a.m. Oct. 23 at the Morrilton Chamber of Commerce. Bass Fishing Tournament

HEBER SPRINGS — The Greers Ferry Area Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual Bass Fishing Tournament at 7 a.m. Oct. 24 and 25 at the Devil’s Fork Tournament Center. Weigh-in will be at 3 p.m. each day. The first-place overall pay is $1,000, first place each day pays $1,000. Fall Bazaar

MAYFLOWER — The Mayflower United Methodist Women will hold their Fall Bazaar at 7 a.m. Nov. 7. The event will feature handmade fried pies for $1 each. Copies of the group’s cookbook Feeding the Flock will be sold for $10 each. The bazaar will include other home-baked items; jams and jellies; and home-preserved pickles, as well as gently used toys, books, collectibles and other items. Christmas Parade

RUSSELLVILLE — The 2015 Russellville Christmas Parade will begin at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 3. The theme will be “Christmas Movies.” Required parade entry forms are available at the Recreation and Parks Department office, 1000 E. Parkway, and online at www.russellvillearkansas.org. The entry fee is $25 for a float, and $100 for a commercial entry other than a float. The deadline to enter is noon Nov. 30. The parade’s rainout date will be Dec. 7.
