Violin-viola duo

The Miller-Porfiris Duo -- violinist Anton Miller and violist Rita Porfiris, on the faculty at the Hartt School in West Hartford, Conn. -- will perform at 7:30 p.m. today in the Parish Hall, St. Mark's Episcopal Church, 1000 N. Mississippi St., Little Rock, the Chamber Music Society of Little Rock's 2015-16 season opener.

Their program, titled "Return to the Old Country," will include six lieder from Die Winterreise and Die Schone Mullerin by Franz Schubert, arranged by C.G. 'Photographic Arts'

'Forrest' Tops

Historic footage

The Arkansas History Commission and State Archives in collaboration with five other Arkansas agencies will screen a series of rarely seen historic films in "Arkansas' Reel History," 1-6 p.m. Saturday at the Ron Robinson Theater, 100 River Market Ave., Little Rock. The 1930s-'60s footage comes from the collections of the History Commission, Ouachita Baptist University Archives and Special Collections, the Butler Center for Arkansas Studies, the University of Arkansas at Little Rock's Center of Arkansas History and Culture, the Garland County Historical Society, and the University of Arkansas Libraries Special Collections.
