SPRINGDALE — Tyson Foods announced Thursday that it would build a two-story, 44,000 square-foot building that will accommodate 250 workers on its property in downtown Springdale.

The project preserve the company's original headquarters at 319 E. Emma Ave. and the Brown Hatchery Building at 317 E. Emma Ave., according to a news release. The company previously gave $1 million to the Downtown Springdale Alliance.

"While the purpose of that donation was to help jump-start the the revitalization of downtown, what's even more important is bringing people back to Emma Street," John Tyson, chairman of Tyson Foods, said in the news release.
