Former Arkansas Razorbacks cornerback Eddie Jackson Jr. will debut his barbecue-centric TV show Friday night, with his first episode devoted to Little Rock flavors.

BBQ Blitz, which premieres at 9:30 p.m. on Food Network, takes him on the road to lead barbecue battles across the U.S.

Jackson won Food Network Star in August, which has a prize of a TV show on the channel.

The first stop: Little Rock, with local chefs Justin Patterson and Donnie Ferneau as well as food truck owner Gwen Jones competing.

A winning barbecue cook among three competitors from each episode of the show will receive $5,000 as Jackson searches for the next BBQ Blitz Champ, according to Food Network.

Friday's episode features chef Kardea Brown and another former Razorback, Anthony Lucas, as judges.

More information about the show can be found on the Food Network website.
