Library system cancels ABC News correspondent's Little Rock talk

The Central Arkansas Library System has canceled Friday night’s lecture in Little Rock by Jonathan Karl, ABC News' chief White House correspondent.

Karl is currently in Washington, D.C., covering the developments in the election of a new speaker of the House, the library system said.

"The breaking news on the Capitol has forced me to be in Washington — I tried hard to avoid that but I was given no choice. In such a major breaking story, ABC News felt I must be there to report for World News Tonight and our other platforms,” Karl wrote in an email.

Central Arkansas Library System Director Bobby Roberts said in a statement that the system is hopeful it will be able to reschedule Karl’s presentation.
