Mountain Home man killed in two-vehicle crash in Baxter County

A Mountain Home man was killed late Thursday in a two-vehicle crash in Baxter County that left him pinned in his car for a short time, authorities said.

Christopher Lynn Todd, 23, died after he veered into oncoming traffic about 11:10 p.m. Thursday on Old Arkana Road in his northbound 1992 Toyota Camry, striking the driver of a southbound 1999 Ford Ranger, 30-year-old Bradley Qualls of Clarkridge, according to the Baxter County sheriff's office.

Qualls' vehicle caught fire after the crash, authorities said. Todd was trapped in his vehicle at the scene and had to be removed by rescue personnel.

Todd was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

Qualls and passengers in both vehicles — a 10-year-old minor in Qualls' vehicle and a 23-year-old passenger in Todd's vehicle — were treated for injuries. Their conditions were unknown as of Friday morning.
