N'DJAMENA, Chad — The head of the gendarmerie in Chad's capital says two groups of suicide bombers attacked a market and refugee camp in a village, killing at least 38 people and injuring at least 51. A military official said the extremist group Boko Haram is suspected.
Gen. Banyaman Cossingar, director general of the gendarmerie, said a group of women blew themselves up Saturday at the market in Baga Sola, killing at least 16 people. He said a second group of suicide bombers went to the refugee camp, killing at least 22 people.
Col. Azem Agouna Bermandoua, spokesman for the military, said there was a triple bombing in the village. He said they suspect Boko Haram extremists from neighboring Nigeria.
