Arkansas man arrested after taking hostage, then a standoff

BONANZA, Ark. — Sebastian County authorities say a western Arkansas man surrendered following a standoff after the man allegedly kidnapped his ex-wife.

Lt. Philip Pevehouse says the 46-year-old man from Bonanza took his ex-wife hostage at a home in the unincorporated Jenny Lind community Saturday afternoon after threatening others in the home with a gun and knife.

Pevehouse says the man held officers at bay until about 9 p.m. Saturday when he surrendered. Pevehouse says there were no injuries.

The man was arrested on complaints of kidnapping, aggravated assault, terroristic threatening and burglary.
