Boozman serves taste of the state

D.C. weekly caucus lunches on McClard’s Bar-B-Q fare

WASHINGTON -- U.S. Sen. John Boozman, R-Ark., provided a taste of Arkansas to his Senate colleagues Thursday when he hosted a barbecue lunch in Washington, featuring food from McClard's Bar-B-Q Restaurant in Hot Springs.

When a senator hosts the weekly caucus lunch, he uses campaign funds to provide food from his home state and a gift bag.

Boozman went with McClard's pulled pork, chicken and sides, with pecan pie for dessert, his spokesman Patrick Creamer said. The gift bag included a bottle of McClard's barbecue sauce, the restaurant's hot sauce and salsa.

There were no leftovers, Creamer said.
