White Christmas Auditions

BENTON — The Royal Players will hold auditions at 7 p.m. both days for their 2015 Christmas musical, Irving Berlin’s White Christmas, based on the Paramount Pictures film.

Auditions will take place at the Royal Theatre, 111 S. Market St. The director is Chris Boggs, with music direction by Jo Murry and choreography by Moriah Patterson. Auditioners need to prepare a song in the style of the musical and supply sheet music to the accompanist. They should wear something comfortable to move in. Scholarship Application Deadline

HOT SPRINGS — The deadline is Friday to apply for the $1,000 Mid-America Science Museum scholarship, to be awarded to a Hot Springs-area graduating high school senior who plans to pursue a four-year college degree in science. The recipient will be selected based on cumulative grade-point average, leadership skills, and extracurricular and volunteer activities, especially those dealing with science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Running for Cover 5K

MALVERN — The Hot Spring County Homeless Coalition will host a 5K run — Running for Cover — beginning at 9 a.m. behind Auto Zone on U.S. 270 (Martin Luther King Boulevard). The 5K race, which will benefit the homeless in the county, will be run on a certified route with timing done by Gary Ballard with arkansasrunner.com. Ageless Bikers Club

HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE — The Ageless Bikers Club has eight different bike rides that are 16 to 23 miles. The rides, which start at 1 p.m., are on quiet, paved country roads, but two rides have up to 3 miles of dirt roads. No one is left behind, and the riders stop often to regroup and socialize. BENTON — The Benton Area Chamber of Commerce will sponsor the 2015 Saline County Business Expo from noon to 6 p.m. Oct. 20 at the Benton Event Center, 17322 Interstate 30.
