The Arkansas Symphony Orchestra played a range of familiar favorites Oct. 2 at a performance presented by the Arkansas Governor's Mansion Association on the mansion grounds.
Not only crowd favorites including selections from the opera Carmen and "All I Ask of You" from Phantom of the Opera, but favorites of Arkansas' first couple, Susan and Gov. Asa Hutchinson. ASO conductor Philip Mann explained "Tara" from Gone With the Wind was one of the first lady's favorites and Trumpet Voluntary was played at the couple's wedding.
But it was Susan Hutchinson who provided the highlight of the evening when she accompanied the orchestra at the piano for Carnival of the Animals.
After the concert, guests gathered in the mansion's Great Hall for a champagne and dessert reception.
