Jackson Browne gases up for Saturday run at Rogers

Singer-songwriter Jackson Browne will perform with special guests Larry Campbell and Teresa Williams at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Walmart Arkansas Music Pavilion, 5079 W. Northgate Road, Rogers. Ballet 'tour'

Ballet Arkansas will make three appearances around the state:

• 6 p.m. Thursday, "Ballet and Blooms," a fundraiser at Garvan Woodland Gardens, 550 Arkridge Road, Hot Springs. The program will include Tom Rudd's Mobile, excerpts from Greg Sample's Rerouting, the "Sugar Plum" Variation from The Nutcracker and excerpts from Marius Peptipa's Raymonda. $85; $600 for a table for eight. • 7:30 p.m., Oct. 30, "Meet Ballet Arkansas," Arkansas Hall Auditorium at Henderson State University in Arkadelphia. Company members will perform Greg Sample's Rerouting, the Act I "Pas de Deux" from Val Caniparoli's Lady of the Camellias and excerpts from Raymonda, with introductions, comments and interaction with artistic director Michael Bearden. Chinese acrobats

Cemetery tour

The Eureka Springs Historical Museum will hold the seventh annual "Voices From Eureka's Silent City" living history tours 5:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday-Saturday and Oct. 30-31 at the city cemetery, U.S. 62 East, Eureka Springs. The one-hour walking tours depart every 20 minutes. Actors and guides will present stories of some of Eureka's late leaders in service and philanthropy, such as a World War I Army colonel, a socialite, a prominent lawyer, a descendant of an Indian chief and an early proponent of baseball.

Tickets are $10, $5 for age 12 and younger, at the museum, 95 S. Main St., all Cornerstone Bank locations, the Eureka Springs Chamber of Commerce at Pine Mountain Village and the site for free parking -- the former Victorian Inn on U.S. 62 East (free shuttles will take visitors to the cemetery, where there is no parking). Ghost walks

Historic Rogers Ghost Walks will start at the Rogers Historical Museum, 322 S. Second St. at Cherry Street, Rogers, five per evening, every half hour, starting at 7 p.m. Thursday-Friday and Oct. 23-24, with the last tour starting at 9 p.m. The walks through downtown will cover "stories of murder, mystery and mayhem"; costumed characters will present their version of the murder of Constable Will Dalton, the suicide of accused murderer Mary Bolin and Rogers' last hanging, among others.

The tour is suitable for older teens (12 and up) and adults; wear comfortable shoes and be prepared to walk about three-quarters of a mile at a slow pace. A portion of the tour route is not wheelchair accessible. Each tour is limited to 16 participants. In case of rain, tours will be rescheduled if space is available. Tickets are $5. Star-crossed shows

The Arkansas Shakespeare Theatre's 10th anniversary season will include two full-length plays by William Shakespeare -- the comedy A Midsummer Night's Dream (the outdoor production) and the tragedy Romeo and Juliet, plus the mid-20th-century musical take on the latter play, West Side Story (music by Leonard Bernstein, lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, book by Arthur Laurents) in June 2016 at the University of Central Arkansas in Conway and at least one other central Arkansas venue.

A one-hour "Family Shakespeare" adaptation of the comedy Twelfth Night will tour to venues around the state, including Crystal Bridges Museum in Bentonville, North Little Rock's Argenta Arts District and the Winthrop Rockefeller Institute on Petit Jean Mountain in Morrilton.

In addition, the theater, to mark the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare's death, will partner with the Conway Symphony Orchestra on a performance of Sergei Prokofiev's ballet Romeo and Juliet involving Shakespeare's text, and a copy of Shakespeare's First Folio, on a U.S. tour, will be on display June 7-July 12 in UCA's Baum Gallery.

ArtLinks registration

Registration deadline is Oct. 20 for the Arkansas Arts Council's ArtLinks 2015 statewide arts conference, Oct. 25-27 in Bentonville and Springdale. This year's conference theme is "Create. Educate.
