JONESBORO -- An inmate in the Craighead County jail died after being found unresponsive early Saturday, Sheriff Marty Boyd said.
Boyd said William Chad Hardin, 42, was pronounced dead Saturday at a hospital where he was taken after being found shortly before midnight Friday.
Boyd said the death is under investigation, but he declined to say whether foul play is suspected. He said the body will be sent to the state medical examiner's office in Little Rock to determine the cause of death.
Jonesboro police had arrested Hardin on Friday during a traffic stop. He was wanted for parole violations and faced charges of contempt of court and nonpayment of fines.
