Lonoke County to place ‘In God We Trust’ on patrol vehicles

The Lonoke County sheriff’s office said Tuesday that it will be placing “In God We Trust” decals on its patrol vehicles.

In a statement, the sheriff’s office said the move was made due to “a large number of requests and support” from county residents and sheriff’s office employees.

In August, the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reported that a Wisconsin group, the Freedom from Religion Foundation, sent letters to the Cave City Police Department and the Hempstead County sheriff’s office asking those departments to remove decals with the motto that they had placed on the back windows of patrol vehicles.
