Man shot to death while hunting in Arkansas identified

GREENWOOD — The Sebastian County sheriff's office has released the name of a man shot and killed while hunting near Greenwood in western Arkansas.

Lt. Philip Pevehouse said in a news release Thursday that 40-year-old Roy Black of Huntington died as a result of the weekend shooting.

Pevehouse said deputies were called Saturday by a man who reported that a man he was hunting with had been shot. Pevehouse said previously that Black died at the scene and his body was sent to the state medical examiner's office.

Pevehouse said the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission is also investigating the shooting because the man was hunting and that a report will be presented to the prosecutor.
