A driver was killed in a single-vehicle crash in southwest Little Rock on Monday, authorities said.

Pulaski County Coroner Gerone Hobbs said the driver suffered fatal injuries in the crash at Baseline and Stanton roads. It happened shortly before noon.

The driver's identity has not yet been released.

Details on how the crash occurred weren't immediately known, but it appeared the vehicle hit a utility pole, severing it, before veering off the roadway.

Traffic remained blocked after 1 p.m. with police advising motorists to avoid the area.

Entergy said more than 650 customers were without electricity nearby because a vehicle hit equipment. Service was expected to be restored by 4:30 p.m.
