Man pleads guilty after causing over $100,000 in damage

HOT SPRINGS — An Arkansas man has pleaded guilty to a criminal mischief charge after authorities say he caused more than $100,000 in damages to his former employer's property.

Michael Andrew Dampier, who was fired last year from Triumph Fabrications, pleaded guilty Monday and was ordered to pay more than $81,000 in restitution and $170 in court costs.

The Sentinel-Record reported that a 20-year prison sentence for Dampier was suspended.

A company employee told police that Dampier had purposely placed two aircraft parts into an etching vat, rendering them useless. The paint on the parts also contaminated the etching solution, rendering it useless.

Dampier had been employed as a supervisor in the paint and process department at Triumph for about six years.
