SPRINGDALE -- Pilots using Springdale Municipal Airport soon will have the opportunity to get a fuel fee waived.
The Springdale Airport Commission approved waiving the fuel flowage fee on the weekends of this year's University of Arkansas home football games, said Wyman Morgan, director of administration and finance for Springdale. The fee is 11 cents per gallon of fuel and goes to the operation of the airport.
The point of waiving the fee is to entice people to land at the airport, Morgan said. This is the second year the commission has done this.
After three years, commissioners want to look at the overall impact of waiving the fee, Morgan said. They then will decide whether to continue it.
