Springdale man pleads not guilty in shooting of brother

FAYETTEVILLE -- A Springdale man who police say shot his brother then called police pleaded not guilty to first-degree battery Wednesday in Washington County Circuit Court.

Johnathan W. Pollard, 22, shot his brother, James E. Pollard, 25, outside a home at 7744 W. Gibbs Road, police said. He called police and talked with a dispatcher for 26 minutes while waiting for help, according to a Springdale police news release.

Pollard was arrested on preliminary charges of first-degree domestic battery, according to the news release.

No information was available about James E. Pollard's injury. The injured man was "taken from the scene prior to officers' arrival," according to the news release. He was later taken to a hospital in Springdale, the release said.
