1 COWBOYS

Horses will run, weave and plunge across the Bar Of Ranch near Clinton during the annual National Championship Chuckwagon Races. Continuing through Sunday, the event includes a variety of horse-related clinics, races, demonstrations and music by performers including Susie McEntire and Jason Roberts Band. The ranch is at 2848 Shakerag Road, Clinton. Admission, which includes all activities and camping, is $30 per day, $20 on Sunday and half price for children 6-12. The collaboration between a successful playwright (Harold Dean) and a talented student (Jeremiah Elliott) on a potential Broadway hit thriller turns increasingly convoluted in Deathtrap by Ira Levin, which Community Theatre is staging 7:30 p.m. Thursday-Saturday, 2 p.m. Sunday, through Sept. 13 at the Studio Theatre, 320 W. Bickering friends (Don Bolinger and director Roger M. Eaves) and a once-famous actress (Laurie Pascale) team up to block the sale of their retirement home and subsequent forced relocation in A Bench in the Sun by Ron Clark, on stage through Oct. 3 at Murry's Dinner Playhouse, 6323 Colonel Glenn Road, Little Rock. The Fertle family continues to bedevil the fictional town of Dumpster, Ark., as Uncle Al opens a new tonk honky-tonk, Bridgette is about to reveal the actual father of her baby and Lou has lied his way into a possibly all-consuming mess. Sketch comedy trio the Main Thing (Steve Farrell, Vicki Farrell and Brett Ihler) stages Lou Tells a Big One, 8 p.m. Friday-Saturday through Nov. 21 at the Joint, 301 Main St., in North Little Rock's historic Argenta Arts District. Those who haven't had their brains teased and twisted only have a few days left. "Mindbender Mansion," an exhibit full of puzzles and interactive problem-solving challenges at the Museum of Discovery, ends its run Monday. Mister E. invites visitors to try out challenges including Amazing Maze-In and Spelling Fever. 9 'CARRY (ME BACK TO THE LONE PRAIRIE)'
