Longtime OBU coach joins son's Arkansas-Monticello staff

MONTICELLO — Longtime Oklahoma Baptist basketball coach Doug Tolin is coming out of retirement to join his son's staff at the University of Arkansas at Monticello.

Tolin retired after the 2015 season after spending 15 years at OBU, where his teams won six Sooner Athletic Conference regular season titles, three conference tournaments and the 2010 NAIA National Championship. He was elected to the NAIA Hall of Fame this year. Tolin also spent 22 years as a high school coach in Oklahoma.

His son — Kyle Tolin — is starting his second season as head coach at UAM after playing for his father at OBU and serving as an OBU assistant coach under his father for 10 years.
