SOCCER

ASU falls to SE Louisiana

Arkansas State lost 4-0 to Southeast Louisiana Friday at the A-State Soccer Park in Jonesboro.

Southeast Louisiana (4-1) outshot the Red Wolves (1-3) 15-7. Hope Sabadash made 3 saves for Southeast Louisiana; Alexis Phillipe made 3 saves for the Red Wolves and Kelsey Ponder had 4.

Lyon’s men go to 4-0

Lyon College defeated Louisiana State-Alexandria 2-0 Friday at J. Marshall Huser Field in Batesville. Estiven Ramirez-Garcia scored both goals. Goalkeeper Logan Miller had five saves. Lyon outshot LSU-Alexandria 12-6.

Lyon women (2-3) win

Anna Waldman scored 20 seconds into the second half to give Lyon College a 1-0 victory over LSU-Alexandria Friday at J. Marshall Huser Field in Batesville. Lyon (2-3) had 11 shots; goalie Ali Ertl had five saves for Lyon,,

UALR tops UCA

UALR (1-4) defeated Central Arkansas 25-22, 25-20, 23-25, 25-18 Friday at the Oklahoma Invitation in Norman, Okla.

Edina Selimovic led the Trojans with 16 kills and had seven blocks. Megan Mathis had a season-high 42 assists with 6 blocks, 4 kills and 8 digs. Priscilia Almeida had 16 digs while Kelsey Leech and Sydnee Martin had 10 and eight digs.

Heather Schnars led Central Arkansas (1-4) with 15 kills and 13 digs. Fulani Petties had 13 kills and six blocks. Rachel Sharp had 11 kills. Amy South had 36 assists and 11 digs. Amanda Dimon had 20 digs. Earlier in the day, Central Arkansas lost 25-23, 18-25, 22-25, 25-22, 15-4 to North Texas.

Samantha Anderson led the Bears with 21 kills, 7 digs and 7 blocks. Schnars had 16 kills. South had 47 assists and 11 digs. Hunt had 17 digs.

UAFS splits two matches

Arkansas-Fort Smith lost 25-13, 27-25, 25-13 to Southwest Minnesota State and defeated Bridgeport 26-24, 25-19, 25-13 Friday at the West Florida Invitational in Pensacola, Fla.

Kennedi Coleman had 10 kills and 11 digs against Southwest Minnesota State, the defending NCAA Division II national champion. Bailey Katzfey had 22 assists. Coleman and Merissa Murphy combined for 23 kills against Bridgeport. Emily Tripp had 17 digs and Olivia Navato had 13.

Arkansas Tech splits in Texas

Arkansas Tech (1-1) defeated Texas A&M-International 25-20, 25-22, 26-28, 25-20 Friday before losing to Cameron 27-25, 25-22, 25-22 at the Hilton Garden Inn Classic in Denton, Texas.

Hunter Eshnauer had 15 kills against Texas A&M-International while Alyssa Kool had 28 assists and Sarita Stegall had 16. Madison Nagel had 26 digs and Kaci Jackson had 13.

Eshnaur had 12 kills in the loss to Cameron, and Kool had 26 assists. Stegal had 13 assists. Jackson had 16 digs.

Arkansas-Monticello lost 25-20, 25-15, 25-19 to Texas Women’s University in the same tournament.

Sydni Schultz led UAM with nine kills and 11 digs. Kedra Johnson had seven and four blocks. Carolina Gasparini and Aubrey Harrison had five kills.

Harding lost 25-19, 25-23, 16-25, 19-25, 15-13 to Texas A&M-Commerce and to Texas Women’s 25-24, 22-25, 19-25, 15-25.

Henderson State loses two in Missouri

Henderson State lost 26-24, 17-25, 27-25, 10-25, 15-9 to Texas A&M-Kingsville and 25-10, 25-14, 25-11 to Maryville University in St. Louis Friday night.

Jessie Jacoby led Henderson State with 15 kills while Violet Williams had 11 against Texas A&M-Kingsville. Against Maryville, Jacoby had seven kills while Ryleigh Thompson had 11 assists.
